As athletes and movers, the hardest thing for us to do is slow down. And I mean, take a pause, notice the breath, and BE with it, without needing to change or alter the present circumstance or outcome. It is when we slow down, though, that layers of our body armor soften and we are able to sink in to the depths of our true, authentic, real selves.
WILD (Body Psychology)
The ultimate body-as-laboratory workshop, an inquiry into the way the body physically holds and processes our contexts, traumas and memories. Psychosomatics is the science of mind-body interaction, the intricacies of the body as a shield, and storehouse for our personal histories. Starting with the basest, most animalistic of physical triggers, the fight or flight response, we'll strip away the surface and see what we can start to unlock, seeing the body as both a tool and archaeological playground for discovery.
